Working with a children's story

This is a lesson created in order for the students to read a book and do something with it.
First, explain to students that they're going to read a book and then complete a story map.The book I've chosen is "A cool kid - like me!" (You can find it under the label "ebooks").Explain what a story map is so that the children understand what they have to do.Children, then, read the book and complete the story map in pairs or individually.As a class, discuss their story maps and focus on the problem, the characters' feelings and the lesson learned.Discuss what children have learned about the value of friendship.

Another idea is to have students describe a scene in the book that proves the characters' friendship and then draw something with their friend to express their friendship.
